Honed as a neo-vaudeville performer when he was a teenager, Joemarie Sanclaria Chua has transformed himself into a full-fledged visual artist due to many factors: the urgency of a scene to be unfolded before his eyes, the passion for putting the right emotions into the scene and the excitement to present the scene in spectacular colors. The 29-year old artist uses his mother’s maiden name Sanclaria as a tribute to her endless support for his artistry. He will soon change his artist name to
Joemarie Sanclaria. His middle name also gives him a sense of mystery: his fascination for the concealed stories of his lineage and his eagerness to see the places where he should have spent a healthy childhood to grow up as an average young man.
