Aner Sebastian’s works are recognizable through the subject and style that have remained consistent through the years, but going though further refinement and enrichment, without being self-indulgent, despite the temptation of the subject to go over-the-top. Viewed from a distance, these works partake of an Impressionist sensibility, filling our eyes with seeming daubs of paint, but moving perceptively closer to our vision as illusionistic encrustations of colors suggestive of nature in a melange of changing seasons.
Sebastian’s straight and thin curvilinear lines joyously animate the space of tranquility and quiet splendor, and as a consequence, the works are more resonantly alive with nature’s delight and pleasure.
