A Festive Fervor

“A Festive Fervor” by Ann Baldemor Moneda at Galerie Raphael

Show runs March 18 – 26

“A Festive Fervor” is an intersection and interaction of man to nature. Ann Baldemor Moneda seeks to spark the interest for nature by pointing at and highlighting its beauty through her signature foliage works. For the artist, nature’s beauty has a positive impact on daily life and is essential for one’s inner harmony and conscience; it is the very prerequisite for life. Ann Baldemor Moneda’s works explore the fragility and resilience of nature and resources in a human-dominated world.

Informed and inspired by observations of nature, Ann Baldemor Moneda’s work explores patterns and the ways in which they occur. With this in mind, Moneda acknowledges it as everything that is, from the molecular to the cosmic, with all its forces and processes. Though her works, the artist attempts to translate these ideas and the invisible, vibrational aspect of nature onto the canvas.

Life post-pandemic has generated strife, fear, and negativity in one’s daily life that can be overwhelming to digest. By painting and sharing what Ann Baldemor Moneda continues to discover in her artistic process, she creates an opportunity to pause, to take a breath, to notice. The works pay tribute to the abundant benefits of attentiveness, and honor the surrounding liveliness and richness-- a visual homage to the synergy of life and the future it holds.

Painter and sculptor Ann Baldemor Moneda hails from Paete, Laguna. Her works are inspired by atmosphere; as she details her inspiration, she describes how her fascination lies with the moment you look outside the window of an airplane. It was a childhood vision captured through her current works of art. Granddaughter of artist Manuel Baldemor, Ann Baldemor Moneda has participated in a couple of group exhibitions in Paete and was a 2nd placer for a wall painting competition in the same locale.
