Art Lozano

Into the Odyssey

As a fervent enthusiast of nature and nostalgia, Art Lozano’s iconic art style continues to kindle conversations about environmental awareness and one’s life journey. By combining these two themes, Lozano ultimately poses the question: what journeys await in our lives once we let go of the inevitable?

The imminent force of nature and existence – a lesson that both need to be learned and unlearned as we venture life in our own accord. In his latest body of work, Lozano tells a story of how life can be mysterious yet exhilarating once we grasp a sense of reality’s honest undertakings. Engulfed in a vast spectrum of verdure is Lozano’s emblematic vintage cars, symbolizing innovation and development of the human condition. The absence of the human figure in his illustrations further suggests and uncovers the mystery of adventure, hoping to imprint sentiments of courage, excitement, and diligence.

With these in mind, “Into the Odyssey” serves as an open-ended message to those reluctant of what the future may unveil. Further, Art Lozano hopes for the viewers to transcend into their own odysseys, wherever it may take them as long as there is faith, bravery, and tenacity.

Art Lozano is described to be a “quiet environmentalist” who develops his unique talent to convey a message. He believes his works can be an instrument to propel the message to focus on earth’s pristine beauty. His dream is that his paintings may urge people to act and take full responsibility in preserving Mother Nature. Ultimately, as he bares his soul through these works, Lozano entices his audience to interpret his works with a critical eye and an open mind.

A painter from Ilocos, Arthur “Art” Lozano has, since 2000, been garnering recognition by various award giving bodies which include the AAP Annual Art Competition, Metro Bank Art and Design Excellence National Competition, GSIS Art Award, and the Philip Morris Art Award. He is currently a member of the renowned Baguio Tam-awan Artist Group.
