For her second solo exhibition, Jax Pasimio introduces a new breadth of works derived from her sentiments about life as humans perceive it. The artist firmly believes that a person’s life journey isn’t measured by the destination, but by the pauses and nuances that come along with it. Finding calm and respite in a beautifully tumultuous world – a viewpoint that Jax intends to capture in her latest illustrations of verdant blossoms.

“‘Stop and smell the flowers’ is a common phrase that one may hear. Upon pondering, I realized that we humans have a tendency to fixate on the messy part of our lives and not see the good things at all”, the artist notes. With this in mind, Jax hopes for the viewers to take into account of the significant details and little joys one can find throughout the course of human existence and being – an earnest reminder to regard especially during difficult times. The works comprise abundant visuals of intricately-dotted florals – encapsulating vibrant reflections of idle yet peak moments of flowers and nature. The collection serves as a memento that reinforces the importance of tranquility, harmony, and grace.

“There is beauty in the chaos… A moment or a sense of positive remembrance where one can look, stop and find beauty, stillness and peace in the details”, the artist concludes.

Jax Pasimio is a graduate of Behavioral Science from the De La Salle University. Pasimio also finished a short Digital Arts course from the First Academy of Computer Arts. As a visual artist, she states that her source of inspiration comes from the interconnection of human patterns with the outside world. Elaborate motifs, vibrant colors, and intricate detailing are all hallmarks of her visual style.

Pasimio’s works are constantly showcased in various local group exhibitions since 2015. She is currently a member of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (ANG INK) and is one of Galerie Joaquin’s represented artists.
