Imbued with Warmth

Fitz Herrera’s “Imbued with Warmth” runs at Galerie Raphael Robinson’s Magnolia

Exhibit runs from April 26-May 6, 2024

The skillful usage of color is a vital part of visual professions and inclinations. The knowledge of color is used to portray mood, light, depth and point of view. As a versatile tool to use, an artist’s goal is to successfully use this, together with other elements to evoke strong emotions and tell a memorable story through his/her art.

With a varied and expansive selection of colors at his disposal, artist Fitz Herrera again creates a visual tapestry but this time, brings to the forefront an array of warm hues that give feelings of warmth, closeness and energy that Herrera as an artist wants to personally share with his viewers. He continues to be conscious of how colors look together but has chosen to focus on the emotional response elicited by his pieces because of how his practice continues to be a transformative journey for him.

His art has always evoked specific peoples in his viewers with its free-flowing playfulness and vibrant dynamism. This collection with its warm colors and earthy tones bring forth empathetic, intimate and personal emotions like a more serene joy, a coming home and finding peace in the quiet moments. As always, Herrera chooses to draw from his experiences, and more so, the people who have inspired, shaped and molded him into the person he is today.

Fitz Herrera (b. 1978) is an abstract artist who formally trained at the University of the East - College Fine Arts where he majored in Advertising. Herrera worked at Universal Records as a graphic artist producing event posters, album covers and the likes.
